BLACKBAUD HIRES FOR EXCELLENCE Featured

Steve Halleck, Blackbaud Nonprofit software vendor Blackbaud has hired two executives who have the responsibility of “driving customer satisfaction through operational excellence and quality improvement.” Writing about what the Charleston, S.C.-based vendor describes as a new function gets puffy quickly. The best tactic is simply to say that Steve Halleck has become VP of business operations, and Steve Hodlin, director of operational excellence. Halleck was mostly recently SVP of group operations for the Financial Institutions Group at Fiserv.

He worked with that company from January 1990 through February 2014 and held the SVP title for his last three-and-a-half years there. Hodlin was most recently VP of performance excellence at Video Gaming Technologies from February 2011 through June 2014. When a company starts touting its attempt to provide excellence, I start wondering where that concept fit under the previous management, in this case under former CEO Marc Chardon who left in August, but that’s a tough question to answer. Blackbaud had a VP of operational business excellence, Amy Justis, for nine months in 2012. A quick LinkedIn search did not come up with others with similar titles.
