EDGEWATER M'SFT BIZ STRONG Featured

Shirley Singleton, Edgewater TechnologyThe Microsoft business of Edgewater Technology boomed for the year ended December 31. CEO Shirley Singleton said in this week's earnings webcast that Dynamics AX service revenue, for example, was up 35 percent for the year. And overall, she said business is looking more like it did pre-recession. "Deal sizes are getting larger and longer in duration," Singleton said.

Revenue for 2014 was $113 million, an increase of 9 percent from $103.6 million for 2013. The company had slightly more than $4 million in net income for the most recently ended year. The 2013 net was $32.4 million, but that included a $30.4-million tax benefit recorded in the fourth quarter. More indicative was operating income of $7.4 million for 2014, up 57.5 percent from $4.7 million. Like many of the larger Dynamic AX resellers, Edgewater is emphasizing its own software on the Microsoft platform and is developing features to augment core capabilities in process manufacturing. These include production dispensing, instrument calibration and quality returns and transfers, which Singleton said are lacking in AX. In addition, Edgewater is aiming for increased deal sizes by telling prospects "It's in the customer's interest to put in the whole [Microsoft] stack," Singleton said.
