AVALARA DEVELOPING CLIENT PORTAL Featured

Patrick Falle, AvalaraHardly surprising in these days of portals, but Avalara is planning a customer portal. The  information comes in a job posting for a  core platform engineer for its cloud connect team by the company's channel chief Patrick Falle. "This role brings together the core products of the Avalara business, and helps provide a coherent experience to our users," Falle wrote. "You will manage the engineering process and deliver value to the customer through development of a streamlined user interface (Customer Portal) and a platform for new content that will launch Avalara in to new markets."

Avalara is likely to make many more acquisitions of companies that offer specialized indirect tax products. It would make sense to have a common entry point to the applications. The purchase of ShipCompliant by Sovos Compliance is the subject of another article in this newsletter and with Richard Asquith at the head of its growing VAT business, we will a lot of action from Bainbridge Island, Wash.-based Avalara, especially with the $100 million in venture money it received in the fall. Falle tells prospects that "You will be joining a recently formed SkunkWorks team focused on building and shipping a unique hardware and software platform to allow Avalara to reach new markets around the world." The word "hardware" is an interesting inclusion.
