SAGE ONE RELAUNCHED IN U.S. Featured

Connie Certusi, SageInteresting to hear Sage execs state in this week's first half earnings webcast that Sage One has been relaunched in the United States. Apparently, Sage apparently has decided not to do any more in telling the press about it than in the initial launch. CEO Steve Kelley pointed to the introduction of eight significant features in the online, low-cost accounting system, followed by 33 in the second quarter. His assessment? "We are not on a par with the best-in-class in the market place."

But Kelley believes significant progress has been made. Sage One Extra was introduced in this country last year, I think. At least features of the product, designed for companies with up to 20 users, were outlined by VP Connie Certusi who runs the small business accounting space for Sage. There has been no publicity about that product since then. The Sage One website has pricing for its entry-level free product and for its Premium product at $5 per month. Nothing on the site mentions an Extra edition and there was no press release about it. An October press release about Sage One mobile said Sage One Accounting Standard is available at $14 per month. There's no apparent reference to the Standard edition so it looks like Sage collapsed the pricing to compete on the freemium model. I can see the headline now: "Sage One: We're Not on Par with the Best".
