TATARINOV LEAVING IN DYNAMICS REORG Featured

Kirill Tatarinov, MicrosoftThe man who would have been king says farewell to the man who was. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was supposed to succeed Doug Burgum as the head of Microsoft Business Solutions in August 2007. Instead, Microsoft decided Nadella had too much talent for that small operation and made Kirill Tatarinov head of the Dynamics organization, a job he has held since. Nominally existing as MBS, Dynamics itself comes to an end as a separate operation as its functions have been parceled out. However, Nadella described the Dynamics group as having grown to a more than $2-billion business.

The reorganization also sees the departure of Steve Elop, who has down quite well for himself in exit packages from Microsoft and Nokia and I would imagine he's going with a stack of cash again. Also leaving is 25-year vet Eric Rudder, an SVP. One top Dynamics VAR said the overall moves mean "This is the final mainstreaming of Dynamics into Microsoft. I believe this is FANTASTIC!" Dynamics functions are now split among various execs. The Dynamics development team moves to the Cloud and Enterprise Team under Scott Guthrie. Nadella's statement says that team is "focused on building the intelligent cloud platform that powers any application on any device." Chief Marketing Officer Chris Capossela, takes over Dynamics and Education marketing. COO Kevin Turner gets the Dynamics sales and partner organization.
