Nonprofit vendor Serenic swung from profit to loss as revenue for the year ended February 29 dropped by 9.2 percent. The company said it had fewer deals for the year and that a large deal in Africa did not close because in the country in which it occurred “the country’s currency controls prevented the sale from being closed prior to the fiscal year end.”

Syspro plans to open a Syspro App Store and while the manufacturer gave no exact date it said many applications are expected to be available by year's end. Besides providing for direct purchases by users, the store will accept submissions from publishers. These can be published for free or the publisher can receive a once-off payment or protect intellectual property through Syspro's licensing model.Read more...
SWK INTROING HIGHTOWER ENHANCEMENTS

SWK Technologies has begun returning Hightower enhancements to the market. Livingston, N.J.-based SWK picked up the enhancements for the Sage 100 line when it acquired the assets of the former Hightower, the Chicago-area VAR that closed in the early Spring. A letter from SWK president Jeff Roth to the Sage channel said his company would test releases of the Hightower enhancements.

Interdyn Business MicroVAR has folded in the operations of Little Rock, Ark.-based Reach Solutions. The deal was accomplished as a merger, but Interdyn BMI, based in Minneapolis, Minn., had $12.1 million in revenue for 2011 while Reach-Solutions had $1.7 million for the last report I had so we know which name survives.

Epicor has released version 12.9 of Prophet 21, its wholesale distribution ERP system. New modules include Customer Buying Trend Analysis that applies a series of Six Sigma statistical models to determine a distributor's customer/item combinations that have a proven, consistent buying pattern.

The headline is a bit imprecise but carries the main message that awards and finalist selections for this year’s Worldwide Conference went to Dynamics channel members who carry AX or CRM and are large. The Cloud Business Excellence Partner of the Year was Alpharetta, Ga.-based Zero2Ten a CRM reseller that also won the award in 2011, while another CRM reseller, Pareto Platform of British Columbia was a finalist.

Sikich has named Jack Moran as director of manufacturing industry vertical solutions. Before joining Sikich, Moran was director of the manufacturing practice for software reseller Tribridge, which is based in Miami, Fla. Moran was with Tribridge from February 2009 through March 2012.
