With Dynamics Convergence replaced by Envision, the Microsoft conference map is continuing its significant change. The latest happening is Amplify, an event Dynamics GP users planned by Dynamics Communities. "Amplify was driven by demand from the Dynamics GP end-user community after the announcement of the transition from Convergence to Envision," Janet Lampert, president and COO of Dynamic Communities, said in a prepared statement.

TrueCommerce has rebranded three European businesses under the TrueCommerce Europe name. The organizations are Wesupply, Atlas Products and HighJump B2Bi. Atlas Products was purchased in August 2014 and Wesupply was acquired in September 2015. TrueCommerce Europe with be led by SVP David Grosvenor, who had served as CEO of Wesupply since December 2010.

Acuity Business Solutions of York, Pa., has been named as Deltek Vision Partner of the Year. The Reston, Va.-based software company also named Aronson, of Rockville, Md.; as GovCon Partner of the Year. The top picks were publicized along with the names of the company's Premier Partners for both product lines. The Vision Premier Partners for 2016 was the same as for 2015 except that last year, there was one more in the category, AMR Group of Toronto, Ontario, which did not make the cut for 2016.
NETSUITE BUYS IQITY CLOUD BIZ

NetSuite has acquired cloud manufacturing software vendor IQity Solutions' cloud business. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The purchase brings to NetSuite the IQity Advanced Manufacturing SuiteApp, which is built on NetSuite. Based in Pittsburgh, Pa., IQity, founded in 2007 by president Dave Gustovich, joined the NetSuite SuiteCloud Developer Network in 2012. The companies say they have about 40 joint customers.
EPICOR WINS ATS SUIT

Epicor Software has won a sweeping victory in a suit that alleged copyright and property infringement by Alternative Technology Solutions, a consulting firm based in Altos Viejo, Calif. ATS must turn over to Epicor all business and assets it used in servicing Epicor customers, as well as the Alternative brand name, domain names, website and phone numbers. Ouch! ATS and its principal shareholders also must make what were termed substantial payments to Epicor.

Maybe Microsoft has seen the handwriting on the registration forms. But from the descriptions of the courses added to the new business conference to be held April 4 through April 6, there's a lot more Dynamics content being added. In particular, the company has added "The future of business solutions for SMBs: What's next for Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft Dynamics GP, and Microsoft Dynamics SL" led by Errol Schoenfish and Gordon Macdonald, to what had seemed likely to be largely a Dynamics AX fest. In fact, the content and speaker list looks good.
INTUIT'S QBO, TURBOTAX SURGE

The move to cloud products produced healthy results for Intuit for the second quarter ended January 31. The company this week reported it swung to net income of $24 million for the most recently ended period, compared to a loss of $66 million a year earlier. Revenue of $923 million was 23 percent higher than the $749 million for last year's corresponding period. "We are out of the gate strong in the first half of fiscal 2016," CEO Brad Smith said during this week's earnings webcast.
SERENIC FOUNDERS BUY NFP LINE

Tangicloud Technologies, owned by Serenic Software co-founders Jay and Liesa Malik, has acquired the OneNFP business unit from OneSoft Solutions. OneSoft, based in Edmonton, Alberta, said it would concentrate on its OneBridge subsidiary, launched in July. The companies said the sale price could not be accurately stated because of conditions about the performance of Tangicloud and currency issues but could range up to $500,000.
SAGE CONSTRUCTION HITS CLOUD

The cloud-based Sage Construction Project Center and Sage Bid Management have been launched. The company says unlike its products with the designation "c" after the numbers, these are true cloud applications. A cloud-based hub, the Construction Project Center enables members of project teams to collaborate and share information. The software has automated document distribution and tracking along with audit trails.
MYOB STRONG IN FIRST PUBLIC YEAR

Australia-based software vendor MYOB returned to public financial reporting in first half of June 2015 and finished the year with strength. Net profit after tax for the year ended December 31 was roughly $62.2 million, an increase of 22 percent over the prior year while EBITDA pulled in at approximately $110.7 million, a 19-percent rise. Revenue was about $237 million for fiscal 2015, an increase of 10 percent over 2014. MYOB, owned by Bain Capital, had been a privately held company for several years.
