SERERRA OFFERS NETSUITE APP

sererra logo Sererra, which carries a variety of SaaS-based applications, has launched a Facebook Webstore Application for those utilizing the NetSuite eCommerce platform. The Sererra product enables NetSuite users to have catalog information, checkout, customer center and functionalities hosted in NetSuite. However, customers do not have to leave Facebook to shop or complete the purchase transaction. Sererra carries a wide line of SaaS products including Intacct, SAP Business ByDesign and Salesforce.com While it was a Platinum sponsor of Intacct's recent reseller conference, the products it has developed for the cloud are more concentrated on NetSuite. BDO SOLUTIONS GOING OVERSEAS

Michael StranzBDO Solutions, the consulting and reselling arm of BDO Canada, is expanding into the European market in cooperation with other BDO firms. The reseller, which handles Dynamics GP and NAV, has gotten operations up and running with BDO Netherlands, according to Michael Stranz, a partner in the Waterloo, Ontario, office. MACOLA GOES SAAS

exact new logoExact has released Exact Macola On Demand, a SaaS-based version of Macola Manufacturing Pro which was introduced in September. The new system, whether in its SaaS or on-premise versions, also offers ERP and CRM functionality. The system has 20 modules and it does, well you know, what online systems generally do, 24/7 and yadda, yadda, yadda.

NET@WORK HIRES SAGE'S ELLERTSON

Seth Ellertson, Net@WorkNew York-based Net@Work, one of Sage's largest American resellers, has hired Seth Ellertson from Sage North America as director of client care and inside sales. Ellertson, who spent 13 years at Sage, was a sales director who was responsible for CRM revenue for Sage in Eastern North America, including new sales, installed-base sales, and maintenance and support contracts.

MICROSOFT TAPS TRIBRIDGE AS MASTER VAR

Tony DiBenedettoMicrosoft has tapped Tribridge as its third Master VAR. The selection was disclosed yesterday inside the company and is expected to be formally announced tomorrow, according to a source familiar with the process. And so the game begins as this apparently brings the selection process to an end. Tampa, Fla.-based Tribridge joins the SBS Group and Interdyn Socius as the three companies responsible for recruiting Sales Affiliates who will purchase their Dynamics products through Master VARs in the United States.  Tribridge officials have not responded to requests for comment. On October 29, the board of directors created a management committee to consider the future strategy for growth, potential M&A transactions to improve its performance and reductions to the company's cost structure. INTUIT DROPS RESELLER FEE

Intuit has eliminated a $1,000 annual fee for members of its Intuit Solutions Provider program. A spokesperson said that the decision "is consistent with Intuit’s practice of constantly reviewing and evaluating the right program requirements and benefits to meet the needs of the company’s customers, solution providers". That seems to have been the biggest news out of the Intuit Solution Provider Summit 2011, which was held October 9 through 12.

SAGE SUED OVER DROPPED MYOB BID

Sage logoThe Sage Group, parent to Sage North America, has been sued by a private equity firm over its decision to drop a bid for MYOB this year. Sage broke the news in issuing a statement which said that, "Sage strongly rejects the claim, which it understands to be in the region of A$130m, and will defend itself vigorously."

NETSUITE: SAP TALKS LEAD TO US

Ron GillOrganizations that talk to SAP because of their interest in SaaS often bring NetSuite into the discussions.  That was the process outlined this week by NetSuite’s CEO Ron Gill at the Piper Jaffray Technology, Media & Telecommunications Conference. Gill said NetSuite often gets into deals it otherwise wouldn’t when SAP talks to prospects first.

/panorama logoThe Panorama Consulting Group has issued its top ten predictions for the ERP market for next year.  The most interesting thing is what two of them may mean in terms of opportunity. These are No. 3, acceleration of ERP failures and No. 5, fewer do-it-yourself ERP products. There’s a direct relationship between these since it’s the D-I-Y jobs that lead to failures. It’s sort of like the TV sitcom when the main character tries to fix the plumbing to save money and ends up spending a bundle to rebuild the bathroom.
