BLACKBAUD BUYING CONVIO

Marc Chardon, BlackbaudNonprofit specialist Blackbaud is acquiring Convio, which makes Internet-based applications for nonprofit organizations. The deal is being accomplished as a merger with Blackbaud offering $16 per share for Austin, Texas-based Convio, giving it a value of about $275 million.

SAGE’S X3 GETS APPROVED FOR ORACLE

sage x3 headerSage ERP X3 has achieved Oracle Database Ready status the Oracle Partner Network. That means that the product has been fully tested and that Sage supports X3 on Oracle Database 11g Release 2. Support for that database also allows Sage to run its application database on the Oracle Database Application. What this shows is what we’ve heard for a longtime about X3, that it has some horsepower for competing upmarket. The importance of the database working on the appliance is that it means a substantial saving of time and expense in manual configuration, the company said.

EPICOR FIRST QUARTER REVS RISE

epicor logoEpicor Software has reported that it expects revenue for the first quarter ended December 31 would range from $218 million to $219 million, a 4- to 5 -percent increase year over year. In a conference call, CEO Pervez Qureshi said software license revenue would be up 8 to 10 percent from a year earlier. Read more...

SAP: 2011 BEST YEAR EVER

EPICOR EXECS HAD BIG 2011 PAYDAY

Pevez Qureshi, EpicorFour top Epicor Software executives had sharply higher compensation in 2011 as the result of the merger of Epicor and Activant. The execs got paid for vested options and were given the difference between the exercise price of cancelled options and the $7.08 per share merger price.

SBS GROUP ADDS TO NETWORK

The latest is Markle & Co. from the Los Angeles area, which sells Dynamics GP and specializes in the process manufacturing industry. GILROY GETS SAP GLOBAL INDIRECT CHANNELS

Kevin Gilroy, SAPKevin Gilroy, who said early in the game that he did not care if moved up in the company, has taken over as the head of Global Indirect Channels for SAP.  Gilroy joined the company in January 2010 as the VP who led channel and business development functions for SAP's North American small and midsize business organization. In that position, he was the visible executive involved in building the reseller base for SAP's cloud offering, Business ByDesign.

INTUIT, INTACCT TIE DEEPENS?

intacct_bannerIt's not clear that Intuit and Intacct have changed the relationship in which QuickBooks grads are being steered to Intacct. Intuit had previously described the relationship as a test. But the language in the last week, at least, is suggesting a stronger tie. Intuit is now showing the following: "Intuit recommends Intacct for companies stretching beyond QuickBooks."

dynamics logo newMicrosoft has launched the U.S. Dynamics Marketing Service Bureau. The launch was announced by Kevin Machayya on the Microsoft Dynamics Partner Community Blog. The bureau brings together a wide range of marketing services tools. He said that includes items such as lists, consulting services, an outsourced marketing director or a social media solution. Offerings include services in outbound marketing, demand generation; inbound marketing and social media; marketing consulting and content creation.
