"MINI" SAGE SUMMITS: HOW MINI? Featured

SageSage is receiving attention for its schedule of Summit conferences on the show's website. Certainly, there has been a lack of information for the channel—actually there's just a lack of information for about everything.

But the way I read the Summit Tour information, the change is likely a good thing. The last Summit was an over-inflated balloon in which the company tried to jam everybody into a one-size-fits all event. The site www.sagesummit.com does show events in several countries. But right now, it's also promoting "to come" information for Spring Summits in London and Atlanta. Except for the fact, there's a regional date for a Summit in Canada in July, an Atlanta Summit looks pretty much like, well the way Summit used to be. The whole thing appears less a fundamental change than botched public relations. Well, there's been a lot of that lately. I started asking about the President's Circle to find out it's been replace with the CEO's Circle. Normally, the former were announced right about now as it tends to coincide with the selection of Bob Scott's VAR Stars, which always was a headache because it meant rushing to pick up new candidates who might not have been honored previously by Sage. The trade press routinely covers these awards so you might think the company would inform the press of the change. Of course, you'd think the channel would be better informed about the show plans.
