News and Analysis
Adaptive Planning has introduced Adaptive Discovery, which the Mountain View, Calif.-based vendor calls a cloud-based data visualization solution. I suppose we could simplify that and call it a graphical reporting tool. The application has the ability to drill into data in the company's budgeting package and translate the data into graphics that are easier to understand.
The result is the ability to provide "very sophisticated analytics without support of IT analysts," say Greg Schneider, VP of marketing. Discovery offers dashboards and scorecards. Pricing starts at $3,000 per module and $300 per seat per year. Target users are "a combination of the finance team, and the executive team and business managers," Schneider says. Analytics include linear or polynomial trend lines, moving averages, histograms, correlation charts and waterfall analyses. Adaptive Discovery also has mobile device support.
