ABILA REVAMPS CHANNEL PROGRAM Featured

Celine Felan, Abila Nonprofit software vendor Abila has established a new channel program that simplifies the structure it inherited. Until now, the Partner Ecosystem had included elements that came when Abila was spun out of Sage in March 2013 and added when Abila acquired Avectra in August that year. Seven categories of partners have been reduced to three and other improvements have been made.

"We had an opportunity to streamline our processes," says Celine Felan, program manager for Austin, Texas-based Abila. The new categories include Business Partners, which resell the company's software; Product Partners, essentially the ISVs; and Implementation Partners, which offer services but do not sell software. Currently , there are 25 resellers and seven implementers. There was no change to the margin structure, Felan says. Although accounting firms have always played well in the fund accounting market, Abila does not have a separate program for those firms. The company's product line includes the MIP Fund Accounting, Fundraising 50, Millennium and netForum lines.
