RECKON BUYS SMARTVAULT

Eric Pulaski, SmartVault Australia-based software vendor Reckon has acquired SmartVault, which markets document management applications. And the question of interest here is less about the intention of the former QuickBooks distributor down under for document management, but for online accounting packages in North America. Reckon has introduced another document product Virtual Cabinet (formerly Lindenhouse) in the United States, or at least it exhibited at some shows and an approach was made in July to our publications to discuss plans here.

SUGARCRM PICKS ELITE PARTNERS

SugarCRMSugarCRM has named 32 Elite Partners for 2016 with 10 of those having operations in the United States. The company says the group represents the top 10 percent of its resellers. Dealers from sixteen countries were selected and Sugar said the inclusion of Mexico, New Zealand, Brazil and Canada for the first time is "showing the significant market momentum SugarCRM is enjoying across the globe. " Three companies have operations in the United States and one other country.

OPEN SYSTEMS BUYS PROCESS PRO

 Joe Blauert, Process ProOpen Systems has acquired Process Pro, a step which shows the Minneapolis, Minn.-based company is capable of surprises. I don’t remember Open Systems ever buying another ERP software vendor, much less two in a month. It announced the purchase of SouthWare Innovations on December 29. The two deals have something in common: both of the acquired companies have been around quite a while.
