The current message to RealWorld users on the Passport Software website is a testament to how long software can endure. Great Plains acquired the former RealWorld early in 2000. Great Plains killed the product, which served as a lesson of what not to do with acquired software. During that time, the RealWorld code lived on as Passport Business Solutions.

An investment group that pledged to oust Shirley Singleton, CEO of Edgewater Technology, has kept its promise. The board of directors has named one of its members, Jeffrey L.
