EPICOR BUYING SPECTRUM
Epicor Software is spending $16 million to buy HR specialist Spectrum Human Resource Systems Corp. Spectrum has about 100 employees and more than 430 direct customers and another 1,800 through OEM relationships. Spectrum’s revenue for 2010 is projected at $14 million. Epicor said Spectrum will become the core of the new Epicor Human Capital Management Group, which puts Epicor into a new market, in addition to those in the manufacturing, distribution, retail, hospitality and services sector.
In a busy week, Epicor also introduced two cloud-based applications, Epicor Tax Connect 1099 and Epicor Carbon Connect. Tax Connect is a 1099 tax reporting and processing system which links to the Internal Revenue Service. Carbon Connect provides companies with the ability to identify, analyze, audit, track, manage, benchmark and report on their carbon emissions/environmental impact and energy consumption.
