SERENIC REBOUNDS IN SECOND QUARTER
Nonprofit software vendor Serenic has rebounded from a loss and posted a 2.7 percent year-over-year revenue gain for its second quarter ended August 31. The company earned $57,015 for the most recently ended period, compared to a loss of $7,198 a year ago. Revenue for the second quarter was just over $3 million, compared to $2.9 million in last year's corresponding period.
Those results still left the company behind fiscal 2011 results. It has lost $120,360 for the first half of 2012, compared to earnings of $1,690 in last year's first half. Revenue for the fiscal year to date of $5.9 million is down 7.7 percent from just over $6 million a year earlier. All figures are in Canadian dollars. The company said North American sales were boosted by existing customers who purchased additional user licenses and functionality. International sales got a lift from the sale of a license to a sub-Saharan African government. Serenic said it relocated its U.S. operations in Lakewood, Colo., to new offices during the quarter.
