INFOR CREATES CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER Featured

Marc Scibelli, InforSoftware giant Infor is putting a new position in the CXO universe with the appointment of Marc Scibelli as chief creative officer. Scibelli, who continues to lead Infor's creative design agency, Hook & Loop, is supposed to take this approach "into the way Infor builds, markets and sells software." This seems a very creative and aggressive move, whether it will have that impact, way too early to tell.

But the announcement of the new position by CEO Charles Phillips shows his desire to do something different in building software. "The next generation of users of business software will not use products as they look today with good reason, and Infor is leading that change," says Phillips. This is not the geek world approach to software design with Phillip's citing Scibelli's "eye for beauty, curiosity about emerging technologies, and network of other Creatives in New York". I mean, when was the last time you told someone, "You have such lovely software modules I'd like to do double entry with you"? Scibelli has stellar credentials and was part of a group at Information Graphics that won a Pulitzer Prize and he worked on campaigns for Google and Finlandia Vodka. Not quite the usual touches for a guy in software.
