TECTURA OPENING UP DISTRIBUTION
Tectura has decided to begin selling its proprietary products and applications globally through Dynamics resellers. Previously, the San Mateo, Calif.-based company has sold them only to its clients or through its own channel. Its life sciences industry technologies will be available beginning with all other technologies available on July 1.
For global VARs like Tectura, this is probably a better way of growing revenue than by expanding its regular reselling business. After all, Tectura has not been in a M&A mode for a few years and sold off its German operations last year. We're going to see more of this as large VARs branch out. Columbus, the Danish Dynamics reseller, is already there with its ToIncrease products and Qurius, a Belgian company, just started an ISV arm that plans to sell applications globally. As margins get squeeze, selling your own product looks like the best bet against all the look-alike competitors. That was probably the reason that there appeared to be more VAR exhibits at Convergence this year. Texas has earned AMR Industry Certified status in Retail, Discrete and Process Manufacturing and offers products that are certified for Dynamics, so presumably those are the types of packages coming onto the general market..
