RANDOM THOUGHTS: MIKE LOVE

Mike Love, Beach BoyThe old men of Rock n' Roll, Rolling Stones, are preparing for the Zip Code tour. That will be followed by the Assisted Living Tour. Who knew that a career of chemicals and groupies would prove beneficial to the older active adult lifestyle? Who envisioned that at this point there would be more original Rolling Stones alive than original Beatles? The Stones tour announcement reminds me of a joke by Jay Leno on the tonight show in commemorating the one hundredth anniversary of the founding of John Phillip Sousa's band.

And in another sign of the age of 60s rockers, Beach Geezers, I mean, Beach Boys lead singer Mike Love forgot the words to the band's iconic song, "Barbara Ann" mid concert and drooled over the microphone for the rest of the show. Meanwhile, preparing for Black Sabbath's last tour former lead singer Ozzy Ozbourne drooled over the mike during an interview about the upcoming event and nobody noticed. ... Also, singers Peter Townsend and Roger Daltry became enraged at the TV when they thought that the Abbott and Costello classic bit "Who's on first?" referred to a tour they had not been informed about. ... McDonald's is introducing Berkshire Hathaway action figures as part of its Giants of Capitalism series. ... A recent issue "Cosmopolitan" had an article about 63 ways for a better orgasm. Who does the research on these? "Was that 58 or 59? Phooey, I lost count. Look, honey., we better to do them all from 50 just to make sure." And on the edge of closing the magazine article, "Stop the presses, we found two more. Too late, I guess those will be our little secret." ... Just started the spring gardening and I'm worried about one variety of plant I just bought. I keep feeling it's whispering, "Feed me" followed by a name.
