Packages that pass the test will be listed on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. Higher-levels of requirements will also be applied to the ISV track of the MPN ERP Silver and Gold Competencies for Dynamics AX. The product's capabilities were laid out in a white paper by analyst Joshua Greenbaum of Enterprise Applications Consulting. He noted the new release will support hybrid on-premise/cloud deployments. Greenbaum said the "Broad-based support for Microsoft and third-party mobile, touch-based devices, and the entire Windows 10 device family, provides an important starting point for customers: being able to deploy the capabilities of Dynamics AX 7, partner products, and Business Cloud services on an ever-increasing list of devices will help expand the overall usefulness of Dynamics AX 7 in the enterprise."

Microsoft is building up to the launch of Dynamics AX 7'. That includes tightening the rules for third-party developers. The program itself was described in a blog post by VP Wayne Morris as "an enterprise-class business application built for the cloud." Morris noted that there will be a public preview of the new version this quarter. At the Worldwide Partner Conference this week, the software vendor said the new rules for obtaining the Certified for Microsoft Dynamics label Morris said this involves validating the application and methods developers employ, and operate the software through Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services.
