COLUMBUS NA REVS OFF DOUBLE DIGITS Featured

Thomas Honoré, ColumbusColumbus had good results for the nine months ended September 30. But once again that was no thanks to operations in the United States, the story for the company's year.

The Denmark company-based Dynamics reseller and software developer, reported North American revenue of about $40.1 million for the most recently ended period. That was off 19 percent from last year’s corresponding period, 13 percent in local currencies. It was a double whammy as sales dropped and currency changes took about $3 million off the top line. “The decline in revenue is due to slow pipeline conversion,” CEO Thomas Honoré, said during this week’s earnings webcast. He reiterated the theme of the last three quarters—that the turnaround is taking longer than initially expected. Before tax profit was about $10 million, an increase of 8.2 percent from the year earlier quarter. Revenue rose to $210 million for the nine months just ended, a 52-percent move up. That was driven by two acquisitions—iStone and High Software. Sale of Columbus software subscriptions increased 19.8 percent to approximately $6.7 million. External subscriptions (things like Microsoft products) reached around $22 million, an increase of 7.2 percent. Columbus cloud revenues jumped 129 percent, but from a very small base and reaching only $1.5 million.
