PRONTO ALLIES WITH AVALARA
Pronto Software, an Australian developer pushing into the United States, has entered an Alliance Partnership agreement with Avalara, which is based in Bainbridge Island, Wash. The deal with the sales-and-use tax company enables Pronto customers world-wide to manage tax calculation, compliance and exemption certificate management via an integration with the software company’s Web-based AvaTax.
Pronto claims 1,200 customers in 27 countries and its Avalara announcement noted its enlistment of VARs in the United States. Pronto is just get started and has four resellers in the United States and Canada, according to Terry Leister, who was named to the position of VP for North America, last fall. The company is interested in growing the channel “exponentially” over the next five years and plans to take advantage of resellers who have been "disenfranchised by their vendor." That translates into feeding off dealers who find themselves competing with numerous resellers of the same product. Pronto is also looking for “Companies that have been selling an integrated solution into a particular geographic market place in and know what the sales cycle is all about and what it tells to install a nontrivial business systems,” Leister said.
