ARXIS SIGNS ON TO BBD

David CieslakWith a burst of enthusiasm, Arxis Technology, which has a pretty good reputation around the Sage community, has signed on as a reseller of SAP's Business By Design. And David Cieslak, one of two Arxis principals, said the product "is truly impressive. It's not just ground up ERP software. It is truly a whole different way of looking at things." Cieslak said the implementation process and methodology is built into the software, and he believes that SAP has handed the product over to "whole different team and saying we want it to be successful and we aren’t taking no for an answer."
Given Cieslak's reputation on the speaking circuit, this should get some attention when he says BBD "is truly game changing." Cieslak said the addition "does not mean we are ripping MAS 90 and Accpac out of the mix" although there would be some resource realignment. He also says the products coming out of Sage, particularly the version of Accpac called Orion "looks terrific if they are able to deliver the goods." It was very interesting since another SaaS vendor, Intacct, worked some complimentary statements from Cieslak about its product into a recent press release, except Arxis isn't going to carry Intacct. While Intacct has a good product, Cieslak said the feature set wasn't broad enough and before the company signed on Taylor Macdonald to build its reseller channel, there were very few VARs in its fold. BBD follows the "it's not just a slicer, it's not just a dicer, it's not just ERP," model that SAP has followed in Business 1 and All-in-One. BBD also offers CRM, HR and expense management capabilities.
