QB 2011 LAUNCHES

QB 2011 Box ShotIntuit has sent forth QuickBooks 2011, its annual new model of the pervasive low-cost accounting product. As for the 2011 vintage, the biggest change for those other than end users came in the renamed product for accountants. What was once the QuickBooks Premier Edition for Accountants is now the QuickBooks Accountant Edition. Among the important changes for QBES and the Accountant Edition is the fact that the application now supports two instances of QuickBooks. Version 11 of QBES also introduced Advanced Inventory, which enables users to track the quantity and value of inventory in multiple locations.

Another notable enhancement is that users no longer have to update files one at a time, which Intuit says required 14 steps for each file. Users can now select files and update them in batches. There's also a Batch Invoicing process that utilizes a template so that individualized invoices can also be prepared through the en masse technique. An add-on product, QuickBooks Connect, provides the ability to access customer and transaction data via mobile phone. Since the last discussion of the reseller program, the company changed the QBES page to restore the "Find a Solution Provider" section so that users could actually find the tool and use it. I'm still trying to figure out the meaning of the separate and very visible Retail Solution Provider section that appeared during that time and now is hard to find.
