BLYTHECO OFFERS MOBILE MAS ACCESS
Blytheco, one of Sage North America's largest resellers, has launched bly/Mobile, an application that enables users to access MAS 90 and MAS 200 via iPhone and Blackberry. Macs and PCs running Windows, Linux and other operating systems can also access the Sage products. As outlined by the company's Web page bly/Mobile is a composite of four applications. These include the Web browser-based MAS 90 or MAS 200 that the company says eliminates the need for Citrix or Terminal Services and which provides full system screens and capabilities for remote or travelling users and also provides the multi-platform support.
The second is MAS 90/200 on smart phones. Mobile screens can be customized by utilizing the standard Custom Office module. There is a self-service browser-based portal for customers, vendors and employees, made possible through an MAS 90/200 interface. And finally, there is Web-based MAS 90/200 and SalesLogix integration that lets users of SalesLogix today view customer interactions via web browser. But wait, there's more. Well, no there's not. I had been waiting for the official announcement but somehow Blytheco put all the details on its home page first. There's an interesting trend here as last month, Net@Work, the New York City-based Sage reseller, released a mobile app for SalesLogix. Is this a matter of the resellers not waiting for Sage to get to the cloud? Or is using the channel a way of speeding cost-effective development for Internet products; letting the channel serve as an outsourced R&D talent pool?
