EIDE BAILLY WEIGHS INTACCT ROLE

Scott Kost, Eide BaillyEide Bailly has been out of the reselling business for about five years, except for handling Intacct. But even then, most of the action involves the use of the online product to provide outsourced accounting services.

“It’s a little bit of both [reselling and outsourced services], but we are most active on the accounting side,” says Scott Kost, president of Techwise, the technology unit of the Fargo, N.D-based accounting firm. When it comes to the role of Intacct in the VAR market, “We are still trying to figure out how it applies in the technology consulting space,” Kost said. “I think there is a play there but I am not 100 percent convinced on the economic model.” He said that Stuart Tholen, president of SGS Technology, was meeting with Intacct to determine what the role should be. Tholen’s Group has become part of Eide Bailly through its merger with SGS’s parent, Schmitt, Griffiths, Smith of Salt Lake City. SGS has sold many applications in the Sage line and this year picked up SAP's Business ByDesign. “We are excited to get back into the business application space,” said Kost.
