Bill Strohmeyer,  BusinessWare  Consulting Open Systems has acquired BusinessWare  Consulting of Waterville, N.Y. And that news came only 13 days after it announced the first signing of a VAR of years. But the acquisition and turning a VAR into a company office has been a lot more typical of the Minneapolis, Minn.-based software vendor in the last few years. BusinessWare, which has been an Open Systems reseller for all of its 15 years in business, is now operating in the same location as the New York regional office of Open Systems.

BWC president Bill Strohmeyer noted that all of his team is joining the software publisher. This follows other examples of expansion through purchase. Last year, Open Systems turned MicroAccounting Systems of Beaverton, Ore., into a corporate office and in 2012 it did the same thing in establishing the Southeastern and South Central regional offices by acquiring InterMicro.
