NETSUITE MAKES COO PRESIDENT Featured

McGeever, NetSuite Some followers might note my May 8 tweet that "The most word chewing heard at NetSuite was about CEO Nelson's crack about when COO Jim McGeever starts running the company". I got doubting looks when I suggested Nelson's statement at SuiteWorld wasn't a joke. However, this week McGeever took the President's job that had been held by Nelson. He also took a seat on the cloud company's board of directors.

At the same time, founder and chief technology officer Evan Goldberg, who had reported to Nelson, now reports to McGeever, who is now responsible for all customer, vertical, product and human resource activities. McGeever was employee No. 12 at NetSuite 2000 and served as CFO until five years ago when he became COO. There was no discussion in this week's webcast for results for the second quarter ended June 30 that this might be part of a succession plan and the press release announcing the changed cast it as a management team with clear roles.
