AVECTRA SIGNS VARS

Avectra has signed CliftonLarsonAllen and Axis Integrated Solutions to resell Avectra's Social CRM to associations and nonprofit organizations.  The accounting firm  and St. Louis, Mo.-based Axis will offer the Avectra product in combination with Intacct's online accounting software.  CliftonLarsonAllen, based in Milwaukee, Wis. is offering the product lines through its outsourced accounting services for nonprofits.

EDGEWATER NET DROPS ON HIRING

Shirley Singleton, EdgewaterEdgewater Technology, whose operations include reselling Dynamics applications, reported a 43.9-percent drop in net income for the first quarter ended March 31 on a 7.2-percent increase in revenue. Net income fell to $175,000 for the quarter just ended, down from $310 million a year ago. Read more...

SAGE LOOKS TO PARE PRODUCTS

Sage logoSage plans to allocate more resources to the products that make more money. That’s the plan announced this week by chief executive Guy Berruyer after the company released results for the half ended March 31. And he also said Sage will move to "a more centrally driven approach to planning, setting priorities and running the business, It will fundamentally change the way we run our business."

SAGE H1: SUBS OFFSET LICENSE DROP

Guy Berruyer, SageA 5-percent rise in subscription revenues offset a 4-percent in decline in income from software and related services for the Sage Group's first half ended March 31. Pre-tax profit rose 2 percent to about $284 million while worldwide revenue hit roughly $1.07 billion, up 2 percent for the half just ended. That came as the company announced plans to introduce Sage One in the U.S. "imminently." Read more...

MACOLA GETS ROLE-BASED INTERFACE

Exact logoMacola Pro has gotten a new interface, Exact Navigator, which provides role-based access to information in the accounting and manufacturing package. The new application takes its name from Macola's owner, the Netherlands-based Exact, which modestly termed the development "a game-changing solution."

Larry RitterLarry Ritter, the CRM executive who recently left Sage North America, has rejoined his colleague Joe Bergera at Roper Industries. Ritter had been at Sage for seven years when he left in April. His LinkedIn page shows he joined Phoenix-based Roper last month. Read more...

EPICOR, SAGE TO SUPPORT AZURE

Azure logoEpicor and the Sage Group said this week that they would support the Microsoft Azure platform. This is one of those announcements that would be more news if Epicor Sage did not support Azure. It’s hard to imagine a mainline company avoiding the Microsoft cloud platform.
