PARADIGM SPAWNS CLOUD GROUP

Long-time Epicor reseller Paradigm Analytics has split, with one part jettisoning most desktop applications in favor of selling Acumatica. The Denver, Colo.-based company is splitting into Paradigm Cloud ERP with the remaining company still called Paradigm Analytics which will focus on performance management. Neither group will continue reselling Epicor.

ACCUFUND BUYS OUTREACH SUITE

Outreach logoNonprofit accounting software vendor AccuFund has acquired the cloud-based Outreach Suite, a fundraising and CRM package. AccuFund, based in Needham, Mass., plans to re-brand the acquired product as AccuFund CRM. In the context of fundraising, CRM stands for constituent relationship management. But from a practical point of view, it covers much of the same territory that CRM does for the for-profit world. The Outreach Suite runs on the Force.com platform. AccuFund has developed an integration between the two packages. AccuFund CRM enables non-profits to fund-raising activities such as forecasting and managing donors, pledges and contributions, and incorporate those activities with general accounting processes by dynamically linking to the AccuFund General Ledger and Cash Receipts modules. Based in Monument, Colo., Outreach Suite was headed by managing partner, Jim Gifford.

Meaghan Sullivan, SAPSAP has named Meaghan Sullivan as vice president of global channel marketing. Her job is to accelerate indirect worldwide revenue. Before joining SAP, Sullivan was VP of channel strategy at HP, which she joined in 2008. MICROSOFT INTROS SURFACE PCS

Microsoft logoMicrosoft has introduced Surface technology that is the basis of its upcoming Windows tablets. Presumably this is Microsoft’s attempt to produce an iPad killer and I assume this is related to the Surface technology I remember being displayed at trade shows several years ago so there has been a lot of time to refine the architecture. The company plans two models, one running an ARM processor featuring Windows RT, and one with a third-generation Intel Core processor featuring Windows 8 Pro. The models will be sold in Microsoft stores and online.

SWK: PENNIES FOR HIGHTOWER ASSETS

Jeff Rosengarden, HightowerSWK Technologies says it will pick up about $3 million in revenue from its purchase of the defunct Hightower. The asset purchase involving the former Chicago-area VAR will cost SWK almost $400,000 - $350,000 in cash and 50 percent of the $60.005 in delinquent payroll taxes that Hightower owes the Internal Revenue Service. EXACT DIRECTOR MOVES TO LONGVIEW

Exact logoRob Hoevens, a member of the supervisory board of Exact Holding, has stepped down from that body to manage Longview Solutions’ European operations. He will focus on sales management at the Exact subsidiary. That move came as the company, which markets the Macola line, named Onno Krap as its CFO.

SAGE VAR CS3 PICKS UP INTACCT

CS3 Technology, a Sage reseller based in Tulsa, Okla., has signed on to the Intacct bandwagon. CS3, once known as Crouch Slavin, is the latest Sage VAR shopping for a new product line. And the reports continue to come in that the Sage channel members are looking for secondary products  because of the uncertainty about Sage's cloud product line development. CS3 carries ERP and HR products but has been stronger on the HR side.
