Xero has named Anna Curzon as its first chief partner officer. Curzon, who had served as managing director for New Zealand for the last year, moved into the global role this month. In blog post on Xero's website, Curzon gave a general outline of her duties in the new job.

Interesting to hear H&R Block's advertisements promoting the use of IBM's Watson computer to process tax returns. I hear there's an underground version of the Block advertisement. "My name is Watson. Why am I wasting my computing power on a bunch of penny-ante tax returns?

Acumatica has introduced two industry editions of its cloud-based financial suite. The latest is the Acumatica Commerce edition, which integrates with Magento via the Kensium Connector. Ray Rebello, the company's director of product marketing, described the new edition as addressing a large market.

SugarCRM has named Karen Willem as CFO. She fills the position held by Steve Valenzuela from January 2015 through November 201. Willem was CFO of Lilee Systems from October 2015 through January. Before that she was CFO of iPass from June 2013 through June 2015. Besides being responsible for SugarCRM's financial operations, Willem will direct other general and administrative functions.

At the end of January, this newsletter tiptoed around the math that suggests the annual revenue for Microsoft's Dynamics operations. But after running the basic algebraic formula through advisors (i.e., my daughter the math major), it appears Dynamics revenue annualizes to about $1.1 billion to $1.2 billion.

Blackbaud's move to subscription revenue has reached the point the coming is looking to the day it sells zero software. But in the meantime, subscription represented 62 percent of sales for the fourth quarter ended December 31 and as the company turned in a good year.
