SERENIC REVS DROP; LOSS GROWS

Serenic reported a sharp increase in its loss for the third quarter ended November 30 as revenue dropped by 8 percent. Those results came as the company noted important upcoming changes to its product line. On the financial side, the loss rose to $191,186 for the most recently ended quarter, up 84.6 percent from $103,595 a year ago. Revenue for the third quarter was $2.4 million, down from $2.62 million in last year’s corresponding period. All figures are in Canadian dollars.

The NetSuite formula continued in its fourth quarter ended December 31: Revenue, non-GAAP earnings, the GAAP loss and size of deals all grew. And CEO Zach Nelson took whacks at Microsoft and SAP and for the first time, DemandWare. So lets talk about the channel. In this week’s fourth-quarter earnings webcast, Nelson said “Next year [2013] we will be investing more in indirect sales than in direct sales proportionately.”

SAP LETS CHANNEL INTO PARTNEREDGE

SAP has expanded its PartnerEdge program to enable members of its channel resell, service and build applications on top of the SAP Cloud. SAP says it has simplified the process by replacing contracts for individual products with a single contract. The company is also bringing 500 members of the Success Factors channel into the program.

Dynamics reseller Columbus has introduced ColumbusCare for its global operations. The Denmark-based VAR says the offering features best systems and practices. Plans also include support and optimization of business applications with tiered service and pricing levels, along with a variety specialized services.

NetSuite picked up some serious resellers in its latest rounds of VAR signings this week. Among the new enlistees were Sikich, No. 13 on our Top 100 list, and WAC Consulting, No. 54. Sikich, which carries a broad range of accounting software but is heavy on Dynamics, had $29 million in revenue for the last year. WAC, likewise carrying a multitude of ERP products, came in with $7.1 million. Portland, Ore.-based ISM, which is supposed to merge with SWK Technologies, also had $7 million in its last year. ISM has historically been a Sage reseller.

Fishbowl has released Fishbowl Inventory 2013, the latest version of its inventory management software for QuickBooks. With Fishbowl now a UPS Ready Provider, the applications has integrated UPS shipping which means users can process and ship orders from within the Fishbowl software.

Fast-growing British reseller M-hance has released Dynamics Dashboards, a tool that is coming to the United States. The Microsoft VAR, which I expect will become increasingly active in this country, plans to unveil the reporting application next month at Convergence. Dynamic Dashboards is based on Intuitive Dashboards from Intuitive Business Intelligence.

Dynamics Tribridge has been named 2012 Solver BI360 Microsoft Dynamics SL Partner of the Year. The VAR, based in Tampa, Fla., received the award “in recognition for demonstrating significant customer impact by delivering Solver’s BI360 business intelligence solution to help drive customers’ businesses forward, according to a statement from Tribridge.

Armanino, which recently changed its name from Armanino McKenna, has acquired Gradient Vision, which specializes in Dynamics CRM and SharePoint consulting. Terms were not disclosed. Gradient founder Rajya Bhaiya has joined the San Ramon, Calif.-based accounting firm. Bhaiya started Gradient Vision in February 2011. Prior to that he was chief technology officer of Webfortis with an overlapping tenure from January 2010 through January 2012. Bhaiya is the author of two books, Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Unleashed and Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4 Integration Unleashed.
SOCIUS INKS DRIVING FORCE AS AFFIILIATE

Socius has signed Driving Force Software, an Atlanta-based Dynamics GP reseller, as a sales affiliate. In business for more than 25 years, DFS also provides network and hardware systems building and security services. This is the seventh affiliate signed by Dublin, Ohio-based Socius, which is one of three Microsoft Master VARs in the United States.
