BLACKBAUD: PANDEMIC LIMITED REVENUE

A shortfall in bookings at the start of the pandemic in 2020 has held down revenue grown this year for Blackbaud. The nonprofit software vendor lost $164,000 in the first quarter ended March 31, compared to net income of $1.6 million a year ago.

LOWER OPTIONS CUT AVALARA EXEC PAY

 Lower option awards cause a drop for three named executives at sales tax company Avalara in 2020. As a result, compensation for CEO Scott McFarlane fell to $9.2 million last year, off 16.2 percent from slightly less than $11 million in 2019.

CLOUD PUSHES VISMA RESULTS 

 A 33.4-percent increase cloud subscriptions and transactions led Norway-based Visma to an 18 percent-rise in revenue for the first quarter ended March 31. Cloud revenue hit approximately $309.7 million in the most recently ended period.

DYNAMICS 365 REVS SOAR

Dynamics 365 had what Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella this week called a “breakthrough quarter”. For the third quarter ended March 31, Dynamics 365 revenue grew by 45 percent over last year’s corresponding quarter; 40 percent in constant currencies.

IFS REVS RISE 13 PERCENT  

 Sweden-based IFS reported revenue for the first quarter ended March 31 increased by 13 percent to about $143 million. The software company said this week recurring revenue increased by 24 percent to approximately $109 million.

SAP CLOUD BIZ: “BLOW OUT QUARTER”

SAP CEO Christian Klein said this week that the first quarter “was a blow-out quarter in the cloud” for his company. Meanwhile reports circulated on a variety of sources the SAP blew out its management for the mid-market Business By Design and Business One applications as it implemented a new partner structure.

Columbus has named Søren Krogh Knudsen as president and CEO. Knudsen, who succeeds Thomas Honoré who resigned abruptly in August, takes over a smaller company.

QUISITIVE CEO: $250M BY MID DECADE

Quisitive Technology Solutions will be a $250 million company in three to five years, CEO Mike Reinhart said this week. That came after the Toronto, Ont.-based Dynamics reseller reported revenue of $49.8 million for the year ended December, up from $18.5 million for 2019.
