Steve Kelly, SageUsually by this time as Sage Summit approaches, there has been a bevy of announcements about celebrity speakers. This year, there has been one—a recently arrived email with George Foreman's face featured. So the trend of the last three years continues—talk about who is speaking, not what the content will be.

PR said one reason for the lack of noise has been not all speakers were nailed down. We can guess CEO Steve Kelly will talk about bots, Sage Live and Sage One. But as to the lack of PR buildup— last year, there were seven celebrity or outside business speakers, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Sir Richard Branson, Ashton Kutcher and Zoey Deschanel. Maybe somebody cut the speaker budget. But that still does not explain the strange way the software company has treated publicity about content. There was no follow up on any of the 10 or so press releases from Summit 2016. Usually companies follow up with "Do you need more information?" and "Would you like to talk to?" Anyway, one person who attended last year's event said, "Last year's briefings were all puff".
