SAGE REORGS: CTO EXITS

Motasim NajeebSage North America has moved around some of the players in its management ranks as new CEO Pascal Houillon is quickly putting his mark on the organization. Notable in the departure list is Motasim Najeeb, the company's second chief technology officer who had announced a broad plan for developing the company's product strategy two years ago shortly after joining two years ago and had not been visible since. The company is seeking a replacement after Najeeb leaves this week.

. Among those benefitting from the change is Connie Certusi, who moved up from the general manager ranks and who will report to Houillon as EVP of Small Business Accounting Solutions, which says something about Certusi and about the importance of the products in that group which include Peachtree. Also joining the executive team ranks are Robert Deshaies, EVP, Specialty Solutions, and  Himanshu Palsule, EVP, North America Strategy,  Laurie Schultz,  SVP and general manager of the Mid-Market ERP business unit and Tom Miller, VP channel management, report to Houillon until someone is selected to lead Mid-Market Solutions. That's somewhat the position that had been held by Jodi Uecker-Rust as president of Sage Business Solutions before she left last year. Most think she departed because she wasn't going to get the CEO job. The jobs cited represent a further retreat from the organization that recently departed CEO Sue Swenson had created which placed all the business software products into two divisions. Both mid-market accounting and specialty products had been under Uecker-Rust.
