MICROSOFT LOWBALLS CRM ONLINE
Out to steal market share from Salesforce.com, Microsoft is offering a blue-light special on monthly subscriptions to Dynamics CRM. The pricing, announced by Kirill Tatarinov, head of Microsoft Business Solutions, in a speech at Convergence Europe, is $34 per user, per month, for the first 12 months of service.
Reminds me of my first-year phone bill with Verizon. There wasn't much time to survey a lot of resellers, but one termed that pricing "VERY aggressive" and said most Salesforce users are paying around $125 per month. Also in the speech was the announcement of the two-tier connector between Dynamics AX, when deployed at subsidiaries, divisions or branch entities, and SAP Business Suite, at corporate headquarters. And on the new list are development features for Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 that are expected to be available in December for channel members building applications on top of that product. That got a very positive reception from the VAR quoted here. The three-city Convergence wrapped up in London today and will be held Prague on October 18 and 19 and Hague on October 20 and 21.
