ACCOUNTMATE SETS .NET RELEASE

David Dierke, AccountMateAccountMate has started publicizing release dates for the .Net version of its financial software. The company’s beta release of the General Ledger and System Manager will be in users’ hands in about seven months, according to CEO David Dierke.

The company’s existing SQL and LAN products are written in FoxPro, which Microsoft has stopped producing. Dierke believes getting the .Net program to market is crucial to attracting disgruntled Sage resellers to his company’s channel. A number of Sage VARs are “extremely interested but they don’t necessarily want to learn a FoxPro product,” he said. And previously, AccountMate has not even been able to show them live code on the upcoming release. But there are still interested Sage VARs, which Dierke said includes “a couple of Canadian resellers, a couple on the East Coast, one in Dallas and two in Los Angeles. What is holding them back it’s a big investment. They are looking for a second manufacturer with both a current solution and future solution because they don’t see that with Sage right now.” The second wave of modules will follow the initial release by six months. That includes the Consolidated Ledger, Bank Reconciliation and Accounts Payable. About six months after that comes Purchase Order, Sales Order, Accounts Receivable and Inventory Control.
