CLIENTS FIRST STARTS NON-ERP OPS

Sheldon Kralstein, Clients FirstBased on the premise that there not a lot of new midmarket accounting clients to be had, Clients First Business Solutions is diversifying. It has established Cutting Edge Marketing with the purchase of a business formed by Bruce Ciarleglio, president of the new division. "When you look at ERP today, the market place overall is a struggle," says Clients First CEO Sheldon Kralstein. "It doesn’t matter if it’s Epicor, Sage or SAP. It’s an overall struggle."
This probably boils down to the simple fact that most businesses own a financial software system so they don't need to rush out to buy them and it also is probably illustrates the point made in today's claim that Microsoft is having trouble hitting its numbers. Kralstein notes that software publishers "are taking more and more and putting partners in a difficult situation." For more than two years, my line has been to tell complaining Sage resellers that the grass is not greener on the other side (the Microsoft) side of the fence. There is no grass. The marketing operation focuses on online video and social media marketing, which Kralstein believes is not getting much attention from small business. The other, yet to be rolled out, will be in the disaster recovery business “based around a brand new technology.” It will operate in the New York Mid Atlantic region, and given the last two hurricane seasons, ought to draw some interest.
