EXACT DITCHING LONGVIEW Featured

Erik van der Meijden, Exact Exact is simplifying its holdings in North America with the planned sale of Longview Solutions.  The sale is being made to Marlin Equity Partners for an undisclosed amount—is anybody besides private equity groups buying software applications and companies these days? Based in Canada, Longview was acquired by Exact in 2007. Exact CEO Erik van der Meijden said after his company completed its review of five business units in its Specialized Solutions that Longview lacked a strategic fit.

The other units are Macola, Max, JobBoss and Lohn. Longview provides a corporate performance management (CPM) and tax data management platform. Exact said it would disclose the use of proceeds in its half-year report on August 1. Macola 10 was just release by that unit and I’d be surprised if the company part with it, Max or JobBoss, which all provided manufacturing software. Lohn is another story, in my opinion.
