INFOR PAID $30.1M FOR SALESLOGIX Featured

inforInfor has disclosed the price it paid for its fall acquisition of Saleslogix, the cloud-based CRM hot potato. The product, now called Infor CRM, was purchased for $30.1 million. In reporting its results for the second quarter ended October, the software company said it recorded goodwill of $18.2 million for the Saleslogix assets it acquired from Swiftpage so we pretty much have an idea of the value carried on Swiftpage's books.

Infor also said there were $13.4 million in identifiable intangible assets. Working all this backward suggests that the value of Saleslogix was much lower when Sage owned that product and Act. Sage sold the two applications to Swiftpage in 2013 and the turnaround in the sale to Infor was quick enough many wondered if that was the plan all along. Since Infor is a multi-billion company, Saleslogix revenue was not material to its results. Observers should also be able to make a guess on revenue based on multiples paid for software companies in 2014. Sage lumped the price for the CRM sale with the ejection of its nonprofit software, now in the hands of Abila, so we don't know how much was paid for individual applications.
