BCS PROSOFT GETS FOREPOINT DELTEK BIZ

Clark Haley, BCS ProSoftBCS ProSoft, a San Antonio, Texas-based software reseller, has acquired the Deltek Vision practice of Forepoint. The deal enables BCS, which already handles Vision, to expand its foot print on West Coast, and in Hawaii, and the Mountain States, according to CEO Clark Haley.

Over the last two years, Forepoint has trimmed its operations with its Accpac Division going to New York-based Net@Work. The latest move has Forepoint concentrating on sales of the web-based Intacct application. Forepoint is also partnering with AZ Technology Solutions, the technology arm of Helena, Mont.-based CPA firm Anderson ZurMuehlen, in the Intacct reselling effort. The three VAR organizations mentioned here have all shifted gears. BCS and Forepoint had been historical Sage dealers but began expanding their product lines when Sage faltered. Both took on Deltek in 2008 and also tried QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions. But like many other mid-market VARs, BCS put that practice on hold when Intuit competed via direct sales. Anderson ZurMuehlen was once one of the most visible Solomon/Dynamics SL dealers. After Sam Allred, who had run the VAR business, turned back to more traditional CPA areas of practice AZ was no longer the regular award winner it had been under him.
