INTUIT, INTACCT TIE DEEPENS?

intacct_bannerIt's not clear that Intuit and Intacct have changed the relationship in which QuickBooks grads are being steered to Intacct. Intuit had previously described the relationship as a test. But the language in the last week, at least, is suggesting a stronger tie. Intuit is now showing the following: "Intuit recommends Intacct for companies stretching beyond QuickBooks."

(http://enterprisesuite.intuit.com/products/intacct/). I wonder what the response to this is if you are an Intuit Solution Provider who is trying to sell QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions. The previous information was a mailer with a softer pitch that referred QB users to an Intacct information kit.  This page is a heavy-duty marketing piece that promotes the benefits of Intacct and also offers its tag line "Intacct, Preferred Provider of AICPA Business Solutions." With Intuit's cadre of CPAs, I'd think that pitch would have some impact, especially among ProAdvisors. There is a video with happy corporate users talking about the move to Intacct. Intuit's website also features the usual price discounting that drove the traditional VARs it had enlisted a few years ago away from QBES. In this case, the offer is 30 percent with only three days left to get that savings. But it can't think of a time when I visited the QBES page in which there was no double-digit discount promotion. And maybe I'm imagining things, but the Intacct page seems far more glowing than the QBES page in promoting the products.
