SAGE 50 SPORTS MOBILE APPS Featured

Connie Certusi, SageFor the first time in a long time, Sage has issued a press release about new features for Sage 50 Accounting—U.S. Edition. (Wasn't Peachtree such a better name?) At center stage of the enhancements are apps for the iPhone and the iPad. Sage also said the application has a streamlined installation and it has added access to chat support throughout the product. In terms of installation, customers are notified there is an update and they click to accept with the product installed in the background.

At the company's Summit conference in 2014, VP Connie Certusi said the company was ending its practice of annual updates in favor of making more frequent enhancements. However, whatever has been done, it has not been publicized. This appears to be the first press release about the package since April 2013. In the meantime, Sage turned its attention publicly to Sage One and, more recently, the fledgling Live, which targets the same market. The new public focus on 50 follows the summer's declaration by CEO Steve Kelly that there would be no forced migration from products. And Sage has signaled plans to continue developing 50. In an August interview about its small business software, Certusi commented, "We are putting investment back in the products. "We have customers who don't want to move into the cloud."
