EDGEWATER REVS, NET DROPS

Shirley Singleton, EdgewaterEdgewater Technology, parent of Dynamics reseller Fullscope, reported a sharp drop in net income on a 3.2-percent decline in revenue for the third quarter ended September 30. Net income fell to $793,000 from $1.5 million while revenue dropped to $24.2 million from $25 million in last year’s corresponding period.

The gross margin for the most recently ended quarter was 36.5 percent, down from 37.4 percent a year earlier. Edgewater attributed the drop to lower software revenue and the billable consultant utilization rate. CEO Shirley Singleton noted the company had cautioned investors during its second-quarter earnings calls about concerns that customers would delay purchasing decision. “Organic revenue growth was held to 1 percent as customers did in fact continue to pause for much of the quarter, making utilization choppy and resource planning very difficult to manage,” she said in a prepared statement.
