WHAT HAPPENED TO SAGE 50 UPDATES? Featured

Connie Certusi, SageA year ago, I posted a story that Sage would have more frequent updates of Sage 50, the old Peachtree—actually that was in April 2013. The past practice had been to have one major introduction of Peachtree in the spring, numbered for the upcoming year. So in spring 2013, the 2014 edition was released with three different press releases published about different Sage 50 versions, including manufacturing, construction and distribution. Well, there have been no official announcements of the more frequent updates that I can find and nothing in the press section about Sage 50 2015.

Actually, there have been no press releases about the product line since April 2013. EVP Connie Certusi says there have been enhancements. "Updates over the past year have been regular but more focused on usability versus new feature introductions," she says. "As an example, we have been updating the products to optimize the installation experience, so that the product can practically self-install, and we’ve also been updating behind the scenes so that our products will be better ready to adopt more significant feature upgrades in the future."  It’s worth noting that if you dig into the Sage 50 section, 2015 is available if you hit the 'Buy Now" button. In fact, that's the only page on the website that gives a year attached to the product name.  Certusi said there will be new information coming and it will be publicized. I don't know if there's anything meaningful here, but the Pro and Premium editions are listed as 2015 versions while Quantum has no year listed.
