EIDE BAILLY ACQUIRES ASI Featured

Bredt Eggleston, Accounting SystemsEide Bailly has acquired Accounting Systems Inc., a Fort Collins, Colo.-based accounting software vendor. ASI has become part of Eide Bailly's Technology Consulting organization. ASI co-founder Bredt Eggleston has joined the Fargo, N.D.-based accounting firm as a principal. The Colorado company carries Sage 100/500, X3, Syspro and Acumatica. However, the Eide announcement singled out the importance of the addition to the Sage practice.

Founded in 1991, ASI said it had revenue of $2.1 million for the year ended October 31. The deal adds 10 staffers to Eide Bailly. ASI said the accounting firm is "currently evaluating both the Syspro and Acumatica practice but we do not have plans to keep those ongoing in the immediate future." Eide Bailly has been expanding both geographically and in developing practices, including software reselling. Colorado is clearly an important target. In June it acquired a Fort Collins-based CPA firm, Sample & Bailey. A year ago, it picked up Denver, Colo.-based Next Business Systems, a NetSuite reseller. The company provided a good base for the VAR operations in August 2012 with the addition CPA firm Schmitt, Griffiths, Smith, which had a strong Sage business.
