MicroEdgeMicroEdge, purchased by Blackbaud in October, had a 3-percent increase in net income on a 4.9-percent rise in revenue for the nine months ended September 30. The MicroEdge numbers were disclosed by the nonprofit software vendor in a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. For the nine months, MicroEdge, based in New York City, had net income of $2.3 million, down from $2.4 million in last year's corresponding period.

For the recently ended nine months, revenue was $20.3 million, compared to $19.3 million a year earlier. An 11-percent rise on operating expenses cut into operating earnings. MicroEdge earned $ 3.9 million for the year ended Dec. 31, 2013, a rebound from a loss of just over $1 million for fiscal 2012. Fiscal 2013 revenue was $26.3 million, a rise of 10.3 percent from $23.8 percent the prior year. MicroEdge was a portfolio company of Vista Equity Partners and Bregal Sagemount and was purchased from Advent Software in 2009. Its product lines include donor and grant management software.
