GP 2010 BUILD UP NOISE LEVEL RISING

Dynamics GP logoThe drumbeats are getting louder and faster for the launch of Dynamics GP 2010 which takes place in May with the new price lists becoming officially on May 1. The lure for end users includes the possibility of enabling them to learn about "the exciting new licensing that may allow existing customers to purchase functionality now and get significantly more at no cost when new price lists become official on May 1."
The buildup includes a Webcast on March 23, along with a growing list of postings of the ERP SoftwareBlog on the Dynamics community. That blog, not from Microsoft, is written by experts, the Microsoft site says, experts who appear to be largely resellers. Among the events listed was a free-all day conference and expo, called Vision 2010, being offered in Troy, Mich., by the TM Group, a Dynamics reseller. The event already has 160 registrants and the company expects 250. Another reseller, Interdyn Artis, is hosting what it calls a sneak peak at the product in Atlanta on March 23. As with Convergence, I don't think I've seen this kind of build up for previous releases. Blame the economy and worries that the reception could be softer than Microsoft hopes? Actually, one of the more interesting comments was a January post which had a sneak peak regarding findings of Panorama's ERP Benchmark study.. “Success or failure has very little to do with software, which is why organizations need to carefully plan and allocate project resources to effectively handle organizational change management activities as part of their enterprise software initiatives,” the author wrote. That would be a very interesting comment for competitors to reprint when going up against Microsoft.
