VARS: SUMMIT TRAFFIC GOOD Featured

Walt Goodfield, RKL eSolutionsThe most widely expressed reseller opinion solicited about the floor traffic at Sage Summit has been it was the best attended conference held by the software vendor. There were, however, some qualms about the quality of attendance in this very quick email survey. Nevertheless, some reseller exhibitors and VARs without booths were enthusiastic about the event.

Danny Estrada, who runs the CRM practice for Net@Work reported, "Heavy interest in Salesforce integration to existing Sage ERP products and existing Salesforce customers using Sage ERP in need of Salesforce consulting. Paul Ziliak of xkzero said, "Traffic on the Summit floor was solid" while Walt Goodfield, VP of marketing at RKL eSolutions, commented, "Floor traffic in the exhibitor area was very steady and consistent throughout. I thought Sage did an excellent job this year with the layout, meeting spaces and placements to facilitate movement." It's acknowledged that the 15,000 Sage reported for attendance was off from the 20,000 it had said would come. But that's still better than any previous show. The one strong negative came from Blytheco owner Steve Blythe who reported, "The biggest problem is the show was full of non-Sage clients (High school or college kids looking for a free meal or to attend the celebrity discussions) and there were a limited number of mid-market accounts at Summit." Blythe also described floor traffic as "moderate Tuesday and Wednesday and very light Thursday" and also complained the floor chart didn't match real locations.
