Michael Bertini, Open SystemsOpen Systems has acquired Precise Software, which develops applications for the apparel decorating industry. The acquired operations will operate as the Precise Software division. The announcement quoted CEO Michael Bertini, who has not returned a telephone call or email in years.

Based in Chaska, Minn., Precise, founded in 1993, markets Impress whose base system includes Art Department, Production Scheduling, Inventory Management. The acquired company is led by Tom Pawlowski, President since December 2005. The Open Systems press release described the purchase as being for strategic growth. Well, that was the language of the press release headline, although the body of the message did not elaborate much on that.
